These pages are web design resources, that I intends assisting web developers to design web site. The internet is unfortunately littered with thousands of poorly designed web sites. There are so many resources available, that the task of improving a web pages' design and search engine ranking becomes daunting. These pages are by no means exhaustive, but attempts to give some useful tricks and tips for the web developer. |

| Counters | Counters can be a valuable tools for the web developer to monitor the user's navigation through the web site. The counter can however also be used on web site to create a false sense of value. There are many utilities available that can create fake web site counters. The functions of the counters on my web sites, are for me to easily see the popularity of each web page. The counter that is selected will depend on the hosting system of the web site. For Windows based hosting ASP would probably be applicable. Linux and Unit based hosting will allow PHP scripts and Java should be applicable to all platforms. | ||||
| Windows base counters: ASP My site is currently hosted on a Windows base platform and for this reason I use an ASP script to act as the counter. Unfortunately I have not yet completed this instruction. |

| Linux/Unit base counters: PHP Linux or Unix based scripts can perform exactly the same function using PHP scripts. Unfortunately I have not yet completed this instruction. |

| Platform independent counters: Java I have been searching for a similar web page counter base on Java, so that it would be platform independent I have Unfortunately been unsuccessful in this regard. |
